Williams Racing F1 Team is a British Formula One racing team and constructor.

The Williams Grand Prix Engineering Limited was founded in 1977, by Frank Williams and Patrick Head. Head designed the FW06, which won the world championship in 1979; this success led to further successes with an 80% winning rate over subsequent years.

In 1987, Honda became their title sponsor for the next six years. The partnership yielded results with one driver becoming World Champion (Nigel Mansell) and another finishing as runner-up (Alain Prost).

After 1992, Renault began supplying engines to other teams while continuing to work with Williams on developing theirs until they pulled out of Formula One at the end of 1997.
