Background
The Challenge
As part of a large and innovative group of companies in the UK supplying the construction industry with a unique, patented method of improving the external facades of high-rise apartment blocks, our client was looking to improve the quality and experience of the installation method.
Or client was becoming ever more aware of the challenges faced by facade and balcony installers for high-rise buildings. Downtime on such construction sites is becoming very costly for contract installers, and balconies need to be installed rapidly without fail to a stringent quality standard.
The client's in-house R&D team conceived the idea behind the remote-controlled lifting device that was attached to a conventional lifting spreader beam, enabling the installer to marry the balcony up to the side of the building ready for simple bolting on from the comfort of the ground, potentially some 80 stories below.
