Adhesives are materials that are used to bond two or more substrates together. The development of adhesives is a process that involves the formulation and testing of various materials in order to find the best possible bonding solution for a given product. In many cases, the adhesive must meet certain performance criteria in order to be viable for use in product development. These criteria can include things like strength, flexibility, heat resistance, and chemical resistance. Once an adhesive has been formulated, it must undergo a series of tests in order to ensure that it meets all of the necessary performance requirements. Only after an adhesive has passed all of these tests can it be considered for use in product development.

Adhesion is the bonding of two surfaces through intermolecular attraction. This attraction can be a result of Van der Waals forces, electrostatic forces, or chemical bond
