A product development manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of a new product or service. They work with a team of engineers, designers, and marketers to bring a new idea to life. In the early stages of development, they work on defining the product roadmap and requirements. As the project progresses, they track progress and help to resolve any issues that arise. Ultimately, their goal is to see the product through from conception to launch. Product development managers need to have strong project management skills and a deep understanding of the product development process. They must be able to effectively communicate with all members of the team and keep everyone on track. In addition, they need to be able to handle multiple projects at once and juggle many different balls.
In this post of our series on The Twelve Hats Of An Innovation Manager, we assess the product development abilities of the innovation manager.
